10:00 am A relaxed start to your day when we pick you up at your hotel. Our route takes us through the very new wine region of Durbanville Hills before we leave the city en-route to the slopes of Paarl Mountain where we enjoy a guided cellar tour followed by a wine tasting. You also have the opportunity to browse through the shop to buy the locally produced cheese.

Our journey continues to the Franscchoek Valley and we stop en-route at the “gates of freedom” where the undisputed Father of our nation, Mr Nelson Mandela took his first steps into freedom.  The original French Huguenot’s were settled in the Franscchoek Valley as far back as 1688 having fled from the religious persecution in their homeland. Many of the farm and place names reflect the rich French Heritage of the area. Franscchoek is also known for its culinary delights and we enjoy a light lunch at one of the many superb restaurants lining the Main Street.

After lunch we visit the majestic Huguenot Monument and then drive through the quaint village of Pniel to our next wine tasting venue where you can also taste a variety of olive oils and olive products that are produced on the estate.

Our journey now takes us to a very old family owned wine cellar to taste the award winning red wines and to catch up on the stories of forbidden love that is an integral part of this cellar.

After all this amazing wine we visit the historical town of Stellenbosch for a brief orientation tour and we have time to explore the beautiful town centre with unique shops lining the narrow streets.

For the last highlight of our day we go to a renowned venue for typical South African cuisine in Stellenbosch.

21:00. All good things must unfortunately come to an end and we drop you off at your hotel for a well deserved rest.
